General Advice

The core of Shoreham Citizens Advice Bureau is the General Advice Service.

We help solve nearly 6,000 new problems every year which are central to people's lives, including debt and consumer issues, benefits, housing, legal matters, employment, and immigration.

Our advisers are all highly trained volunteers who collectively give over 4,500 hours of their time each year. We give each person we advise as much time as they need. As we are often very busy, we sometimes have to ask people to wait. The Bureau has a Quality Mark in General Help awarded by the Legal Services Commission.

The Bureau runs 18 hours of drop-in sessions per week, 6 hours of appointments, gives telephone advice and replies to written enquiries. We are not able to offer e-mail enquiries.

Our building is single storey with a ramp and rail to the front door and no steps, and we are accessible by wheelchair. We do not have public toilets.
